Former Manchester United Brandon Williams has received a 14-month suspended jail sentence for dangerous driving at speeds of over 160 kmph.

ToggleIn August 2023, Williams was spotted driving his Audi A3 on the A34 close to Handforth, Cheshire, at high speeds and erratically as his car crashed into the central reservation after colliding with a Ford Fiesta. He entered a guilty plea to reckless driving and uninsured driving in March.

Williams has been handed a suspended 14-month jail term for hazardous driving after reaching nearly 100 mph (161 kmph) before colliding with another automobile. He has been given a three-year driving restriction, a two-year suspension from his sentence, and a community order ordering him to perform 180 hours of unpaid labour.
Williams was on loan at Ipswich Town at the time of the incident, which occurred 10 months before Manchester United confirmed his departure due to the expiration of his contract. He has remained a free agent the entire season, though, and has stated that he intends to play football again soon.
Despite avoiding jail time, there are still substantial questions about whether Williams, a once-highly rated youngster with a 12-month break from the sport, still has a future in the game. However, he will be hoping that he can find a way to get back into the sport.
